SONE Webinar Series 2024 Speakers:
1st SONE Webinar 2024
We are thrilled to extend an invitation to you for our 1st webinar of SONE webinar series 2024. We are honored to have Dr. Subodh Adhikari, Research Assistant Professor from the University of Idaho, as our guest speaker.
Talk Overview: Climate change has direct and indirect impacts on pests and beneficials. Globally, producers are responding to climate change by adopting climate-smart cropping systems. Climate-smart agriculture helps enhance the resilience of agroecosystems by improving biodiversity-based ecosystem services, such as pollination and pest regulation. In this seminar presentation, I will discuss climate-smart agriculture and its effects on pests and beneficial organisms.
Webinar details:
Speaker: Dr. Subodh Adhikari
Title: Impacts of Climate-Smart Agriculture on Pestiferous and Beneficial Insects

2nd Sone Webinar 2024
We are thrilled to extend an invitation to you for our second webinar of SONE webinar series 2024. We are excited to have Dr. Rajendra Acharya, Postdoctoral Researcher from the University of Georgia, as our guest speaker.
Talk Overview: The management of insect pests in the field mostly relies on chemical control. However, relying solely on chemical control is not effective due to issues such as the development of pesticide resistance, its impact on non-target organisms, and environmental contamination. Alternatively, biological control using natural enemies could be employed successfully and sustainably. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) offer a promising solution as soil-dwelling natural enemies of many underground pest insects. In this presentation, I will discuss the potential use of entomopathogenic nematodes in biological control programs against a wide range of insect pests. Additionally, I will delve into various factors influencing the efficacy of EPNs in pest management, including environmental conditions, nematode species specificity, and application methods.
Webinar details:
Speaker: Rajendra Acharya, Ph.D.
